For the last century the only cure anyone has ever had for defective eye site is either glasses or in the last 25 years contact lenses, this is a pain for most people who have to deal with it. The pain of braking or losing glasses, or contracting eye infection after eye infection from using contact lenses.

Not to worry though because in the last few years laser eye surgery has taken its place in the industry and is becoming more and more popular. This new type of surgery prevents the need to wear glasses and replaces the need to mess around with contact lenses.

People still don't fully understand laser eye surgery and the procedure that they need to go through to start down the path. This article is not the place to be describing technicalities as this is best discussed with a qualified surgeon before the treatment is undertaken.

The time it takes for the operation to be performed will depend solely on the severity of the defective eyes. If you are severely short sighted the surgery may take longer and can be complex. Most eye surgery now can be performed the same day and the need to be hospitalised grows less and less each year, however you should always take someone who is able to offer support and help you get home safely as you will not be able to drive.

There are risks involved in eye surgery just like any other surgeries; however those risks grow less and less each year. There really is little to worry about as millions of treatments have been performed and very few have gone seriously wrong.
