More And More Men Are Opting For Plastic Surgery

By Robert Smith

Why is the trend in male plastic surgery going up despite its high costs? All you have to do nowadays is turn on the television and you are inundated with sexy, toned bodies and weight loss advertisements. Visit any major restaurant, request something loaded with cheese, and count the dirty looks you get when the waiter brings your food. Thin is in and there is nobody who likes to appear over thirty anymore. The days of distinguished elder gentlemen and the women who love them are bygone.

The majority of men who have gone through plastic surgery will quickly concede that they did so to attract the opposite sex. Older men are prone to be desirous of younger women and so they have to compete with the younger guys. Plastic surgery assists in leveling the playing field, so to speak. Also, because of the emphasis put on health over the last several years, men are both living and working longer than before. Plastic surgery permits them to continue appearing strong and energized on the job.

The most common plastic surgery procedures among men are liposuction, wrinkle removal and, of course, hair transplants. The popularity of these procedures has actually served to bring down plastic surgery costs. This is because an increasing number of doctors are choosing to specialize in the field, so there is a wider fold to choose from. That doesn't mean that plastic surgery costs next to nothing just yet. The more detailed and potentially dangerous the surgery, the higher the cost.

Liposuction, as an example, can cost from $3,000 to $6,000. Facelift procedures can be as expensive as $15,000. It is evident that plastic surgery costs are not cheap, but neither are they excessively expensive.

It looks like this could be something both men and women are equal in. - 30516
