Liposculpture Surgery: What You Should Know About the Procedure Itself

By Pier Montague

Liposculpture is one of the most popular procedures done all over the planet. While most people inadvertently imagine it's only popular in the West, its reach extends far beyond Europe and the US. In fact, liposculpture treatments are on the rise all over, including places such as Thailand, Japan, China, and India. If you are curious about getting liposculpture yourself, this article will present a concise overview of the procedure and what to expect.

Let's start off by talking about what the treatments themselves. Liposculpture was invented as an ingenious way to remove unwanted body fat from a persons body. To this end, it can be applied to diverse areas of the flesh, including the thighs, knees, arms, breasts, buttocks, waist and even the face. (It is important to note that other types of cosmetic enhancements have been shown as superior for work on the face over facial liposculpture.)

The diversity of the technique is shown by how widely applicable it is to different parts of the body. While the details are obviously specific to what's being treated, we can make some generalizations of the surgery that apply to all areas. To start with, the patients body is marked with incisions - tiny cuts, basically. These incisions may remain on the flesh as a scar. Because of this, they are as much as possible, hidden in the skin creases of the patients body.

The cannula is carefully moved through the patients body. Once positioned correctly, it disrupts the fat cells and then sucks them out! This is probably the most well know part of the surgery, and it's not so far off a metaphor to imagine this happening similar to how a vacuum cleaner pulls dirt from the carpet. Note though that while a patient may wish it not to be true, the most fat that can be safely removed maxes out at about 10 pounds!

While that figure might not sound like a lot, note that the less advertised, post-surgery work will make things better. After removing the fat, the cannula is taken out and the doctors get to work on the skin itself, smoothing it and tightening it to improve it's appearance. Because of this, the doctors can make it appear that more than 10 pounds of fat was removed!

Now that you know more about the surgery, are you still interested? Cosmetic surgery prices are not cheap but are certainly something many can afford, starting at a thousand to two thousand dollars US. The surgery is never fun but the results might be worth it to you. If so, talk to your doctor today and imagine what your body could look like tomorrow! - 30516
