How Do I Go About Getting Money for Plastic Surgery?

By Leonard Dawson

Financing plastic surgery is not like financing a car or a home. Banks, as you may have guessed, are very careful about who they loan plastic surgery money to. They will very carefully consider your credit history, including late payments, defaults, your bill payment history, and how long you've had credit accounts. A loan to pay for plastic surgery is an unsecured debt, meaning there's not collateral for the bank to repossess in the event of a default.

Your credit score will likely have to be above 700 to avail yourself to this kind of plastic surgery financing. Some companies that lend money to finance plastic surgery make a determination based on credit score alone, a number which can range from 365 to 870, with a higher score being better.

It is important to consider all the costs before committing to having plastic surgery. If you choose to have plastic surgery, you will pay the surgeon's fee, operating room cost, anesthesia, and a device fee if your surgery involves an implant of some sort. In 2006, surgeon's fees averaged around $3,000, but that average represents a range that takes in the relatively small average fee of $175 for microdermabrasion and the relatively large average fee of around $4,800 for a face lift.

You do not have to borrow the entire cost of your plastic surgery. Many plastic surgery financing companies will make loans ranging from a low of around $2,000 up to $20,000. It will depend on your credit history. In many cases, the smaller the loan you ask for, the more likely you are to be successful. Some prospective patients will take out a loan for part of the costs and pay for the rest of it with cash or a credit card.

A company called CareCredit is only for paying for medical services, and it is possible to get no interest financing in many cases, though not all doctors offer this type of payment plan. Once you have the CareCredit card, you and your doctor work out a payment plan. CareCredit issues a credit card that allows patients to finance health care costs (including costs for elective cosmetic surgery) with a network of over 100,000 doctors in the U.S.

While the best way to pay for plastic surgery is to save up for it, not everyone is so patient or disciplined. Fortunately, there are finance companies that will make loans to people seeking cosmetic surgery and even credit cards designed to help people pay the high costs associated with plastic surgery. - 30516

Breast Augmentation - What Are The Facts?

By Partick Peyton

Many years ago, women were really not satisfied with the shape of their breasts and they did few exercises to keep the breasts firm, but in vain. They rather grumbled than doing certain arm exercises to increase the bust.

It is important to take the time to decide how exactly you would like your breast to look. Careful planning is necessary to avoid unsatisfactory results which could lead to future surgeries. Deciding on your perfect shape and size will save you headaches and money in the future.

For many women however breast augmentation is a means of firming up breast that have begun to droop a little or to enhance their figure, in which case they turn to private practitioners whose area of expertise is breast augmentation.

You should be fully aware of the procedures involved in it. The surgeons will explain in detail to you about the pre-surgical activities, the surgery and then post-surgery activities and the healing process.

Another reason you can't look to your favorite celebrity is that celebrities don't often resemble the bodies of average people like you. Your best bet is to see your surgeon for a personalized size consultation.

The two most commonly used breast implant materials are silicone and saline. A silicone breast implant uses a soft silicone shell filled with viscous silicone gel; a saline breast implant also uses a silicone shell, however instead of silicone gel its filled with a saline solution.

For the past hundred years, before the introduction of these saline and silicone based implants, surgeons have been trying out different ways to fill the breasts and regain the firmness. Vincenz Czerny was the first person to carry out the first breast implant by using benign lymphoma and placed it in the breasts of women which later caused breast tumor.

When your consultation is over, your surgeon will use his expertise and personal data collected about you to make a suggestion as to which size would go best with your body. Keep in mind that the surgeon's opinion is not the final decision on what you will look like. You will be unsatisfied if you do not make a sound decision on your own. - 30516

What Type Of Plastic Surgery Did Farrah Fawcett Have?

By Leonard Dawson

There's no question that Farrah Fawcett was one of the most beautiful women of the 1970s. Even though she was only on the television series Charlie's Angles for a year, she was always associated with the show - perhaps even more than the other two "angels" Jacqueline Smith and Kate Jackson. A poster of Fawcett in an orange swimsuit sold an astonishing 30 million copies.

But even the most beautiful people can't avoid getting older. Perhaps because of media pressure to be beautiful, Fawcett underwent plastic surgery as she got older, and sometimes it didn't turn out well. Fawcett is believed to have had a face lift that did not turn out well, eye surgery, lip augmentation, and various injection procedures like Botox and Juvederm.

Cosmetic surgeons have gone on record saying that it appears that she had a mid to lower face lift, upper and lower eyelid surgery, Botox, and perhaps a neck tightening procedures. After the rumored face lift gone wrong, Fawcett is believed to have undergone corrective surgery that resulted in a dramatic improvement.

Some people point to pictures of Fawcett after her 2004 surgery as a cautionary tale that sometimes natural aging is more attractive than trying to achieve a younger look. Others decry the plastic surgery industry overall for promoting anti-aging procedures as "the norm." Internet, television, and movies saturated with surgically perfect stars have the effect of making many ordinary people believe that the standard for good looks has been raised to a level that's unachievable for most people, and that plastic surgery is the only way to "compete" these days.

Ever since her rise to stardom in the 1970s, there has been speculation that Fawcett had breast implants. She never commented one way or the other on that or on any other surgery she had done, but breast augmentation is a common procedure even for women with average sized breasts, and has been for decades.

One hopes that Farrah felt confident after undergoing cosmetic procedures, and that any physical pain from them was minimal. There is no way of knowing what Fawcett would have looked like had she aged naturally since becoming such a huge star in the 1970s. But she certainly did as much as she could to keep her stunning good looks for as long as possible. Sadly, we'll never know what her thoughts and feelings were about aging and plastic surgery. - 30516

Better Breast Enlargement With New Software

By Pat Millner

Plastic surgeons are turning to new computer technology and fast digital imaging techniques to drastically improve satisfaction for patients who are interested in breast augmentation surgery. Previously, there was often the chance of making a woman's breasts too large or even too small with the old methods of planning cosmetic breast augmentation surgery.

Some breast enhancement operations are later reversed because of poor decision-making regarding breast size. Artificial enhancement to a woman's breasts is often a risky operation not because of the cosmetic surgeon's skills but because of the unrealistic goals placed upon the surgeon by an uninformed patient. Picking the correct cup size, circumference and overall shape and feel of new breasts is a often a difficult decision.

Now there is new software available for plastic surgeons who specialize in breast enlargement that helps take away a lot of the guesswork surrounding choosing a breast shape. There is brand new 3D breast augmentation software available now. This cutting-edge breast augmentation software package is an amazing imaging solution that cosmetic surgeons can purchase and use for their patients who are serious about breast augmentation surgery.

This new software allows for precise measurements and allows the woman to see compare exact before and after surgery photos before the actual surgery takes place. The remarkable part of this software is that it uses digital photographs, not just simple computer graphics. The client stands in front of a rotating digital camera which rotates around the woman and takes enough photos to build a three dimensional model of the patient's current body. There are currently several qualified New York cosmetic surgeons who are now using this software.

Breast enhancement is one of the most common cosmetic surgical procedures performed every year. As with any cosmetic surgery, there is always so some doubt and concern on the part of the customer about whether or not the end result will live up to her expectations. With computer technology being used by plastic surgeons to show before and after results on a computer monitor a good portion of that uncertainty is sure to be alleviated. - 30516

French Manicures at Beauty Salon Glasgow

By Christine Danzirola

A French manicure is a nice way to have polished nails without drawing too much attention to your hands.

The absence of color makes for simple outfit changes, without having to think too much about clashing colours. French manicures also last longer than conventional manicures with coloured polish because you cannot see chips as easily.

Also they are simpler to touch up without being too conspicuous.

What's the purpose of having a manicure, if you are just going to put clear polish on top of your nails?

Why trouble to go to all that time and trouble, to look natural?

Well, we girls do tons of crazy things, and spend numerous hours in the beauty salon attempting to make ourselves appear naturally beautiful. Why should manicures be any different? Besides, the polish is not essentially clear.

The polish is two different colours. A very thin white or off white coat is applied to the tips of your nails and allowed to dry. Then the entire nail is painted with a soft beige or pink color, making the nails very clean and polished looking, but not really as dramatic as red or pink polish.

While French manicures may appear almost natural, they are the most difficult type of manicure to have done to your nails. Most beauty salons charge additional money for a French manicure, than a regular manicure with one solid color. Some beauty salons use an honest to goodness paint brush, with awfully fine bristles to apply the thin white coat to the tips of the nails.

Other beauty salons will quickly apply the white coat without much attention to detail.

Then they will come back before the polish has dried and take away the excess color with an orange stick wrapped in cotton.

This is fascinating to watch.

I usually get curious when the manicurist paints half my fingernail white. I'm thinking to myself, great, I could do a better job at home blindfolded and I'm paying her my hard-earned money to make a huge mess. But then, she's always redeemed when she cleans off the surplus and my nails look good.

Watching her perfect this skill easily, I was entrapped to try this process at home.

I made a big mess.

I think that next time I'll leave this talent to the professional.

The fondness for having a French manicure started round the seventies, and is just as popular today. People have been getting French manicures for some time. You can see these types of manicures just about anywhere from magazines, to mums in the supermarket.

One thing that is sort of interesting about French manicures is they really do not have any target age range.

Anyone from teens, to grandmothers can be seen carrying a French manicure, that's something that cannot be declared of most fashion trends.

In recent years, there has been a new addition to the French manicure family. It is the French pedicure. They have all of the pliability and versatility of the French manicure. I adore that I can wear pink shoes, red shoes, or black shoes with no need to rethink my toenail polish. - 30516

Pros and Cons of Different Breast Implants

By Amy Nutt

Breast Enlargement Surgery, or breast augmentation, is a minimally invasive medical procedure that involves enlarging the breasts by inserting a saline or silicone gel. An incision is made in the bottom crease of the breast. The breast implant is inserted through the incision and placed under the breast tissue. The incision is then closed with stitches. When considering breast enlargement surgery, one should be aware of the pros and cons of each breast implant.

Saline Implants: This type of implant is a sac that is filled with saline (sterile salt water.) Saline is filled in the implant for the specific determined size of the breast. There are three types of breast implants that include pre-filled implants without a valve, pre-filled implant but with a valve, and a pre-filled implant with a valve that can be used for future adjustments.

If a saline-filled implant leaks or ruptures, it will not be a danger because saline can be absorbed by the body and will be eliminated from the body safely. A major benefit of a saline implant is that there is little obstruction when undergoing a mammoplasty. They can also be filled to be soft and natural in appearance. Saline implants will often need to be refilled to keep them maintained. As well, after many years of being worn, the implants may have to be replaced. It may also affect the amount of breast milk that is produced.

Saline implants will result in less scarring than silicone implants because saline implants provide a valve for filling and refilling so the incisions are much smaller than silicone gel implants.

Silicone Implants: This type of implant involves filling a sac with silicone. Many women have reported that silicone implants feel and look more natural, and even bustier. As well, with these implants don't create wrinkles in the creases of the breast. If a silicone implant ruptures or breaks the leak remains trapped within the breast so it does not get absorbed into the body. If an implant leaks, there can be infections or irritations in the breast. It can result in further surgery. Silicone implants cost more than saline, and are not life lasting. With silicone implants, one will have to get an MRI every couple of years to check for ruptures. Replacing a silicone implant is normally a more involved procedure than replacing a saline implant.

For both implants, sometimes scar tissue can form around the breast implant which can thicken and become sore. Over all, both implants are safe with few side effects. They also come in a variety of shapes that will match each person's individual needs.

Breast augmentation is a great method of improving the shapeliness and size of the breasts. It is important to be aware of all aspects of the procedure, including the types of implants, to make sure you make the best decision that meets your individual needs. To determine which implant is best for you, you should consult with your doctor or a breast augmentation specialist. - 30516

My Experience With Breast Actives

By Molly Shemcky

A lot of Breast enhancement formulas are available in the market today, each of them making some big claims of doing magic when it comes to breast enlargement. One such product which caught my attention is Breast Actives. Before spending my hard earned money I wanted to find the truth of these claims, myself.

The best way was to compare, the Breast Actives product with other enlargement ones available in the market. Most of these products could be easily compared on the websites over the net.

Even though these websites talked positively about Breast Actives formula and the users seemed more than happy with its results, a doubt still lingered in my mind.

Breast appearance mostly boils down to hormones. With pregnancy and age, your body is releasing different amounts of hormones and this can affect the overall look of your breasts. Any imbalance can lead to sagging. Hormonal help is needed in achieving fuller, more augmented cleavage"where Breast Actives comes in to play.

During puberty and pregnancy the female body produces these extra hormones which help the breast tissues to grow. Breast Actives is just the blend of such supplements and cream formula which generate similar hormones.

Being completely herbal both the supplement and cream are completely safe and have no adverse side effects. Most of the ingredients have been passed for safety by the FDA. The manufacturer also offers a complete money back guarantee, in case of unsatisfactory results.

This product is able to offer maximum results in minimal time. You can see up to a three cup size increase within the first month. It is a great product because you get the results of plastic surgery without paying the price and you get the results of other prescription medication without the nasty side effects that may go along with them.

From looking further into Breast Actives I have determined that this product does work to increase bust size through natural products. I highly recommend Breast Actives to anyone looking to enhance your cleavage in a safe, cost-effective way. Best results are achieved when using this program for a minimum of six months. - 30516

Liposculpture Cost - A Worthwhile Investment

By Peter Hantmon

The cost of liposculpture these days can be averaged out to well in the thousands of dollars in most surgical clinic's, which is the reason some people shy away from the procedure. However, a lot of positive feedback, from people across the United States who have had liposculpture in the past prove that the cost is well worth the investment.

The average person does not have to get a head to toe work over, but instead choose individual parts of his or her body to be worked on. An effective, safe, and painless procedure, it's perfect for cutting away excess fat from areas such as the abdomen, hips, waist, thighs, buttocks, knees, arms, and the face and neck.

Some may question if they really need a liposculpture to help improve their own physical appearance. Many plastic surgeons wholeheartedly agree that the process is quick and simple, yielding fast, and most importantly, noticeable, results.

The cost of maintaining a healthy and strict diet, subscribing to a gym membership, and even hiring a personal trainer can require a large time investment, and with uncertain results, one could never be sure if they will gain any improvement. In the long run, this can sum up to a hefty cost, most likely averaging more than a quick and painless liposculpture. This is why this procedure is most highly regarded as a more permanent and much more effective substitute for diet and exercise. It not only helps those who have had trouble in the past losing weight, but also those who have no time to take out of their busy lives to get in shape.

Each plastic surgeon has a set standard of excellence that can be seen through their amazing results, year after year. Not only do they have years of experience, but their tools are state of the art. Technology is evolving rapidly, producing sophisticated machines capable of the most intricate and delicate operations, which is utilized in clinics all across America. An advanced technique called the topographic mapping technique is normally used prior to the procedure as a highly effective and accurate way of targeting the problem areas, making precision marking that garner visually pleasing results. liposculpture may not be too easy on the wallet, but as an investment, it is the only safe and secure procedure that is faster and more effective than traditional weight loss methods. - 30516

Home Laser Hair Removal Product Safety

By April Conmers

There are some basic keys to remember when looking to try a home based laser hair removal device. Commercially available to the general public, these hair removal systems can be a safe, painless and effective way to remove body hair as long as you follow some precautionary guidelines such as picking up a government approved device, following manufacturer instructions and using common sense.

Some normal side effects to be expected from using a home laser hair removal device include skin irritation, reddening, and swelling. These side effects usually occur immediately after treatment and typically go away after a few days.

More serious side effects, although rare, usually occur from improper use of the product and can cause burning, blistering, scarring and discoloration of the skin. These side effects are most common when used on an individual with tanned or dark skin.

Picking up a good home laser hair removal device is important to avoid unnecessary risk during the procedure. Look for an FDA approved product which ensures that the system was tested for consumer safety before being commercially available to the public. While this is a good start there are still some things the user has to do to protect themselves where the government cannot.

When the manufacturers instructions are followed properly we can safely assume that only mild, temporary side effects might occur. Most devices have adjustable energy settings and skin tone detectors as safety features to minimize the chance of serious injury to the user.

It is very important to remember that laser treatment does not work for people with tanned, medium brown or dark skin. The ideal setting is light skin and dark hair. Dark skins will burn or blister easily under the laser. Remember to keep the treated area out of direct sunlight for a week since it will be sensitive.

Use common sense whenever trying a new solution to hair removal. For example, mild stinging is normal but any excessive pain means that something is wrong and the laser treatment should stop if adjusting the settings does not help. While burning or blistering is rare, see a medical professional immediately to avoid permanent scarring.

As with all hair removal strategies, skin irritation is normal. Follow the basic guidelines and use common sense to avoid any major complication from using laser hair removal devices. Especially avoid sensitive areas and remember this system is not for laser facial hair removal. - 30516

Hair Loss Treatment Options

By D.J. Verret, MD

Hair loss does not have to be the norm anymore. For patient suffering from androgenic alopecia there are treatments that can be undertaken. Not the least of these treatments is hair transplant surgery. Using a patients own hair, a natural appearing, more youthful hairline is available.

Before determining what treatment is appropriate for hair loss, the cause of the alopecia must be determined. Visiting with a primary care doctor is the first stop on the road to treatment for alopecia. After completing a thorough physical examination and history, the physician may need to perform additional tests to determine the exact cause. Once the cause is determined, treatment plans can be developed to address the exact cause.

Once the cause of hair loss is determined, treatment can be undertaken. For patient suffering from androgenic alopecia, medications, herbal supplements, topically applied oils, hair replacement systems, and hair transplant surgery are all options for treatment. There are currently two approved medications to treat hair loss in the United States - finasteride and minoxidil. These are sometimes used in conjunction with hair transplants to create optimal lasting results.

Hair restoration through transplant can create very natural appearing hairlines. Follicular unit grafting takes hair which is not affected by androgens and transplants individual follicles into the areas of hair loss. The hair will not fall out due to androgenic alopecia and results are not the plugs of years ago.

Hair transplants are performed in an office setting with local anesthesia. Procedures can last several hours but patients can take breaks at various points in the process. Though the procedures themselves are not painful, the injection of the local medication can be uncomfortable though it only lasts for a few seconds. Patients can even drive themselves to and from the office for the surgery. - 30516

Home Laser Hair Removal Consumer Products

By Manny Tera

Home laser hair removal systems have opened up the option to remove body hair via laser to many people who normally would not seek the services of a clinic. It is a relatively advanced method that offers an effective hair removal process with minimal pain and discomfort. All the benefits of being one of the closest things to permanent hair removal can now be had in the comfort of your own home on your time and the repeat sessions and touch ups without the additional cost.

It used to be that the only way to receive laser hair treatment was in a clinic performed by a medical professional. Today that is only true for sensitive areas such as the face and neck. But portable home devices allows everyday people to treat themselves everyday if they so desired. The laser generates heat which destroys the hair follicle at the roots preventing the hair from ever growing back. Some people experience a slight tingle while others have reported a warm sensation during the procedure. But overall it should be a nearly pain free solution compared to shaving, waxing, or plucking.

Now people don't have to spend the time and effort to research and schedule appointments with a clinic to have minor areas treated with laser. There are a lot of people who like the idea of removing unwanted hairs but limit themselves to temporary solutions because they don't have the desire to go to a clinic. This home laser machine allows these people to receive the same treatment on their own time whenever they want.

It can cost anything from $1,000 to $3,000 for the entire treatment at a clinic performed by a doctor. This is the approximate total cost of treating a typically sized area while a home device is more affordable costing around $800 to $1,000. Since laser hair removal requires multiple treatments over time to remove most of the hair, a take home device allows the consumer to do the procedure themselves and additional touch ups at no additional cost.

There Has Been a Noticable Increase in Demand for Laser Hair Removal Treatment at Beauty Salons

By Shirley Meier

In some cases an increase of 22% year to year.

Surgery for the removal of hair employing a laser is a new development. The original equipment that came into the marketplace for this procedure had issues that led directly to law suits. But constant research has improved the technology and product.

Most salons for laser hair removing surgery use approved processes and devices and the therapists are highly killed in this procedure.

That's why laser hair removal has shown to be the most up to date non-surgical procedures in many spas.

The procedure is to focus laser beams at the hair follicles, which soak up the heat thru their dark pigmentation and die. The encompassing skin isn't affected if it is of a lighter shade than the hair.

As we discovered at school, dark colours absorb heat and lighter ones don't . A fair-skinned person with black or brown hair would an ideal applicant for this treatment. But newly developed technologies could perhaps manage dark-skinned people also.

A competent laser hair removing salon should accept a candidate only after carefully checking the skin condition.

Laser hair removal usually needs six to 8 courses of laser techniques. The most common areas in women are the face, neck, bikini line, underarms and legs.

The most typical areas in men are the face, neck, back and chest.

The process can really be performed in a lunch break for busy executives.

Laser hair removing has become favoured lately and is a perfect long term solution for time-limited women and men wishing a low maintenance option.

Human hair has cyclical expansion. Laser surgery is most efficient if it is done in the growing phase. It may not be possible to cover all such hair in one session.

Therefore two to 6 sittings may be needed for the stated effect. The sessions may be 5 - 6 weeks apart and, depending on the area to be covered, each sitting may need 1 to two hours.

Laser hair removal is proven to give permanent hair reduction and a course of procedures can remove all hair forever.

The procedure is available for both men and women and can help with unwanted hair on nearly any part of the body. - 30516

Post Liposuction - Maintaining Your Figure

By Andy Rich

Despite what some people may think liposuction is, many experts warn that liposuction is not a solution for obesity and is not to be confused as a weight loss option. The procedure itself is solely for the purpose of removing fat in specific parts of an already healthy body. It is for those who want to remove pockets of fat that are hard to reach through exercise and dieting. The important part, especially for anyone who has lost the weight and then used liposuction to make the final touches, is that a healthy lifestyle is maintained so that the body is kept in tip top shape and avoids major weight gain.

The first step to sustainable weight loss is having the right mentality. Take on the persona of a person who is already at your ideal weight. What differences in their eating and exercising habits do they have from yours? What are their standards when it comes to being healthy? A fit person would not let themselves gain excessive weight because they think exercising and eating well is normal, anything else is abnormal and must be corrected. Over time these beliefs forces a person to live a certain way and the body will either lose or gain weight to correspond to the living habits of the person.

Some major differences are prominent when observing the lifestyles of overweight people and physically fit people. The first of which is their eating habits. Many people who are in shape will do things that confuse most people. They seem to eat unhealthy foods and in large quantities. It can only be that what you observed is not typical of their diet, or that they will gain weight soon. To properly maintain a healthy lifestyle your diet, and more importantly what you think about your diet has to be aligned with healthy living. Eat a variety of natural foods and use fruits to satisfy any need for sweets. Incorporate vegetables as a regular part of any meal plan and avoid processed foods as much as possible.

To stay health it is important to drink plenty of water. Things like caffeine and sugary drinks dehydrate and this means your body needs even more water to offset these chemicals. Water works to saturate and dilute toxins and other bad chemicals in your body and serves as a medium through which these toxins are flushed out of your body. By making this a normal habit of drinking more water, the body is fully hydrated to perform at a higher level than it was use to. An easy way is to try to carry a water bottle with you at all times. This way you can sip water throughout your day without impeding other commitments in your life.

The one missing piece, and in my opinion the easiest to incorporate, is exercising. All you need is moderate exercise to keep the body in shape and gets the blood flowing. The best way to make sure you keep this up is to create a plan and get up an extra 30 minutes early. Take a brisk walk around the block or hit the gym or anything in between depending on your level of fitness. If you are not use to exercising daily then make it a challenge. Make a plan to do it every single day for a month or whatever span of time you think will best motivate you and offer yourself a non-diet-destroying reward. There are countless benefits to exercising that we do not need to get into, just do it.

Proper exercise, diet and the right mind set will improve every area of your life beyond your health. A healthy body exudes positive energy which will permeate and influence every aspect of your life. People are much more attracted to healthy positive people and you will certainly feel more positive when the body is happy and healthy. Remember these things and stay healthy to get the most out of liposuction results. There is no point in paying for a procedure and then gaining all the weight back. It is also dangerous to gain significant weight regardless of whether or not you were a patient of liposuction surgery. - 30516

How Tattoo Removal Balm Works

By Jeff Flincks

The practice of tattooing is nothing new, having originated centuries ago and used by many cultures for religious and status marking, among other uses. The process has evolved over time to become more of a hobby or means of self expression. With the increased popularity of tattoos has come a lucrative new removal market for those experiencing "tattoo regret.

While there are many costly surgical procedures available for the removal of unwanted body art, such as laser and Intense Pulsed Light treatment, the latest phenomenon in ink removal is the do-it-yourself at home cream tattoo removal. Currently, several tattoo removal balm products dominate the market, including the popular products Wrecking Balm, Tattoo Erase and TatBGone. Tattoo removal balms often differ in active ingredients, but the dominant chemical in the skin ink removal industry is hydroquinone, which disrupts the formation of melanin in the skin and is often used for cosmetic skin bleaching and to reduce the appearance of freckles and age spots. Tattoo removal creams usually contain a two percent concentration of the chemical. A ban on hydroquinone was proposed by the FDA in 2006 under suspicion that the chemical may cause cancer, and it has already been banned in many counties worldwide.

Minor differences between many of the products exist, including method, frequency and duration of use, but tattoo removal balm manufacturers all make the same basic guarantee: to lighten the tattoo over a gradual period of time without causing much pain. Consumer reviews for these body art removal creams provide a general consensus that when used as directed, the creams caused very little or no discomfort.

The current king of creams, Doc Wilson's Wrecking Balm No. 3, incorporates a medical dermal device into the process, taking at-home tattoo removal one step further. The device was recently approved by the FDA as safe to use in the home without medical supervision. Wrecking Balm's three-step-process works by breaking down the skin injected with ink and taking advantage of the natural skin regeneration and healing process. Phyllanthus emblica fruit, sometimes referred to as Indian Gooseberry, and salicylic acid are the active ingredients in the tattoo removal balm.

Consumers can expect to pay anywhere from $50 to over $300 for these products, which are easily found and purchased by phone or online. - 30516

What is Teeth Whitening?

By Jane Davies

Your teeth are a very obvious part of your appearance. Teeth whitening facilities know about this fact, which is why they are encouraging people to whiten their teeth, so that they may look their best and so that others will find their whole appearance more appealing.

Whitening your teeth can also enhance your self esteem. Did you ever noticed those people who smile a lot even to total strangers? Notice how easily they radiate warmth just by giving that Hollywood smile. Sometimes, that smile gets so catching that you find yourself smiling and feeling better for the rest of the day on.

This is why you should brighten that smile, so you can give it much more often. One method of perfecting it, is by whitening your teeth. In today's world where beauty products and facial makeovers are rampant, you see lots of beautiful people, but you will always notice is the colour of their teeth.

You probably think that they are very fortunate to have been born with beautiful white teeth like that, but what you do not realize is that those teeth are the result of the whitening products and procedures that are available on the market today.

Over-the-counter teeth whitening products are not as dear as they used to be. This may be because of the stiff competition out there. With so many new products appearing practically everyday, it is no wonder that the prices are dropping so quickly.

Take a careful look at yourself in the mirror. Are your teeth as white as they once were? Do you feel that they could be made still whiter? Are you one of those who would benefit from having their teeth whitened?

To answer these questions, look at some of these considerations:

1. Methods for teeth whitening. The methods used for teeth whitening are on a case-to-case basis. For every individual, there is a method that will suit their different requirements. You can choose veneers instead of bleaching or teeth whitening. The best thing to do is to see your dentist first about what should be done. Your dentist will be able to tell you what will be perfect for your requirements.

2. Smokers and Caffeine-Addicts. If you are someone who likes to take caffeinated drinks, then you are probably a candidate for teeth whitening. This goes for people who smoke a lot too. The ingredients in caffeinated drinks can discolour your teeth if you have been drinking caffeine for a long time. Tar and nicotine can also discolour teeth rapidly.

By having your teeth whitened or by using whitening toothpaste every day, you can lessen the effects that these ingredients will have on your teeth. Continued, regular use will definitely help fight off the rapid discoloration of your teeth.

3. Sensitive teeth and gums. Your teeth and gums may not be able to tolerate the chemical contents of whitening products. If you suspect you have sensitive teeth, it is best to delay using whitening products until you have asked your dentist first.

If you have a sensitive mouth, but are still serious about having your teeth whitened, then you had better go for one of the professional treatments. Do not take the risk of trying out products that you can buy over the counter.

Once you have mulled over all these things, then you will know if you are ready for that teeth whitening procedure. When it comes to your well being, it is always better to be safe than to be sorry. - 30516

What Does Breast Augmentation Mean?

By Terry Colvert

Study of the adjustment of a breast or pair of breast is called as Breast augmentation. It helps to improve the appearance or modifying the visual personality of the breast.

As we all know it is commonly called as "boob-job". The clinical term for a breast implant is mammaplasty enlargement, augmentation mammaplasty.

Rebuilding the breast after a mastectomy or correcting the breast generally known as congenital chest wall deformities are the reasons for breast augmentation.

There are two common substances that most implants are made from. These are saline or saltwater-filled and those made of silicone gel. The kind filled with saline were first made in 1964 in France by the Arion company. It was made with an outer wall of silicone rubber. These type of implants are inserted into the breast by making a small hole into the tissue, placing the empty implant inside and then filling it with salt water to the intended size

These saline type implants were used in the U.S. up until the 1990s because of restrictions to using the silicone type of implants. Some people consider the silicone type to be better and more natural looking than the saline type. Either can give good results, but the silicone type are thought to wrinkle less and feel more real when the breast is touched.

The modern history of breast implants begins in 1962, with a silicone implant procedure. For the first time in the history of breast implants a silicone envelope filled with silicone gel was used in a breast augmentation by the Dow Corning Corporation. They are to this day balancing aesthetics with safety.

Whether or not someone considers getting breast implants is a very personal decision that should be considered carefully. There are many specialists in the breast augmentation field that a woman can speak with and get a consultation. She should have all her questions ready to bring up to the doctor and expect the entire procedure to be thoroughly discussed prior to getting it done. This will give her the right to make her own decision after getting all the facts ahead of time and therefore make her more sure of whether or not she wishes to have it done.

Deciding on breast implant operation is a very personal decision, and one not to be made casually or lightly. Finding the right operation, and having it performed by the right surgeon, is key to increasing the likelihood of a long lasting and great result. Making the decision to have an augmentation should be well thought out by the women..And mind you it does not come cheap. - 30516

The Most Difficult Plastic Surgery Choice

By John Miler

The most confusing decision you may have to make after you've chosen to have plastic surgery is who your doctor will be. You'll probably want to confirm that your cosmetic surgeon belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. You definitely will want to make sure each plastic surgeon you are considering is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. You will want to initially do some research online, looking up each plastic surgeon and checking out his or her website. You may also want to covertly find out more about your cosmetic surgeon by thinking about creative ways to learn more about him or her.

After this first phase of research you'll come up with a list of five or six cosmetic surgeons who can perform the procedures you want. Now you should set up an initial appointment at each office. In busy doctor's offices it can take a few weeks to actually set up an initial appointment, but don't be discouraged. Most surgeons do not charge for this service.

Don't forget: your relationship with your cosmetic surgeon will be more than just the normal relationship between a doctor and a patient. Your plastic surgeon will be responsible for modifying your body permanently, so having a good relationship built on open understanding is necessary. At each visit with your prospective doctor ask plenty of questions and take notes not only on what is said but also on how he or she listens to you.

After all your research you should probably have your pick between one or two plastic surgeons who really jumped out in your interview process. At this time you may want to think about total costs, financing options and even what hospital the plastic surgeon will be using. Given the choice between two qualified plastic surgeons who use different hospitals, you definitely should pick the one with the more professional staff and cleanermore modern facilities.

If you still can't decide between one or two plastic surgeons you will probably want to begin listing the positives and negatives of each and talking about them with friends that you trust. Once you've chosen your surgeon and have scheduled the procedure you can sit back and relax, knowing that you've made the right choice by choosing the best cosmetic surgeon that fits your needs and wants! - 30516

Teeth Whitening: Pros and Cons

By Gail Jones

Choosing teeth whitening products from the different teeth whitening products available on the market today can be very confusing. However, some of these teeth whitening products do not produce the desired results.

If you were to ask the experts, they would inform you that the best method of teeth whitening is still obtainable via your dentist. Not only is it the best, but it is also the most effective and the quickest way to have whiter teeth.

However, not all people can afford the charges that come with such treatment. Another factor that hinders them from going to dentists is fear. It seems that in early childhood, dentists are one of the most feared professions and that children just do not want to have to meet them. This fear continues on into adult years.

Although dentists do not advise people to choose teeth whitening products, they all agree that most of these products are effective to a degree. According to many studies, most teeth whitening products can result in whiter teeth that can out perform any dentist-assisted procedure, if used according to the instructions.

An additional plus point that teeth whitening products have, is that they contain the same ingredients that are being used in professional whitening. Two of the active ingredients needed for whitening teeth are hydrogen peroxide and carbamide. These two products are also the ingredients that are present in some of the products that are sold in ordinary grocery shops and drug stores.

The only advantage that amateur teeth whitening products have over professional whitening is that they are much cheaper. Everyone who knows about them can afford to add them to their list of basic shopping items.

Many of these products can be bought for $30 or less. Compare this to the $100 or more that you need to pay at the dentists. It will not surprise you that people prefer them over the high fees. Still, teeth whitening products are found to have some disadvantages. Some of which are:

1. Suitability. Teeth whitening products cater to all types of teeth, it is true, but then different people have different requirements. What some people find to be effective may not work for others. This is one of the problems that people will come across with these 'home' products.

There are those who have sensitive teeth and gums. Reaction to the products will depend upon the suitability of the products to the people using them. An option would be to try different products until you find the one that is suitable to you.

2. Strong Chemicals Used. You will not know what your reaction to a product will be until you have tried it out. Since you do not know how sensitive your teeth are, you will also not know what might happen when you start using the product. It is wiser to consult with your dentist first before choosing any product at all.

3. Tray may not fit. The tray put in your mouth does not exactly fit you, so there is a tendency that it may be either be too large or too small.

If it is too big, the formula may not work very well. On the other hand, if it is too small, it may cause gum bleeding and side effects that will cause bigger problems. Be sure that the teeth whitening precuts you choose are right for you. If none of them works, then perhaps professional teeth whitening will. - 30516

Turning Back the Clock Without Surgery

By D.J. Verret, MD

The most common non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures include dermal fillers and neuromodulators. Both are excellent at providing temporary facial rejuvenation. In some cases, these temporary solutions are the best options where no effective long term solution has been devised. It must be remembered that each product works in a different way and is used to address different problems.

When a physician talks of dermal fillers, they are talking of a class of medications which is injected into the deep layer of skin, the dermis, which provides volume to the skin. These medications are used to soften facial wrinkles and depressions. There are several on the market in the United States though most are temporary lasting 6 months to a year (though individual results will vary). There is currently only one United States approved product for permanent dermal filling. In general, dermal fillers are good at correcting lines which are created at rest, not during muscle motion. This means that if you look in the mirror without smiling and see a line that you want to fix, a dermal filler may be for you.

Because of the long track record of dermal fillers and their long safety record, some physicians have starting using them in off label ways as a non-surgical alternative to some common surgical procedures. Non surgical nosejob and non-surgical face lift procedures can be performed in the office setting without down time.

Neuromodulators, on the other hand, work well for wrinkles and fine lines created by muscle motion. The currently approved US neuromodulators are based on different formulations of purified botulinum toxin. The injection temporarily paralyzes the muscle which causes the wrinkles that a patient is concerned with. Unfortunately, the medication is non-selective and when used incorrectly can produce untoward results. The effect generally lasts about 3 months though results are variable.

There are risks with both neuromodulators and dermal fillers. Consultation with a trained and experienced surgeon is always necessary before undergoing either of these treatments. Having a physician nearby in case of complication can be lifesaving. - 30516

How Much Does Liposuction Cost?

By Peter Griffinson

How much does liposuction cost? Liposuction is becoming a lot more popular these days. How much does liposuction cost may be one of the questions on your mind. Well, there are a lot of things to consider when you take into account the cost of liposuction. A skilled surgeon is the number one key. How much does liposuction cost is affected by how skilled the surgeon you choose is. When you are looking for that perfect surgeon, remember that you are going to need to think of this in respect to your health. Your health should always come before how much the procedure costs.

Once you have chosen a surgeon, you will be able to ask how much does liposuction cost. This is because you will know the surgeon you are going with and they will be able to quote an approximate price. The question of how much does liposuction cost becomes a lot of little questions for your surgeon. The surgeon will first have to look at the severity of your case.

Surgeons will charge the patient according to the steps they have to perform for your liposuction case. Every step will be rated at a different cost; however, with knowing the different steps they will have to take, you will be able to add up the approximate cost of liposuction. If you simply have liposuction within the tummy region, you will have a lower cost than someone dealing with the extremities.

The cost of liposuction depends on if you are male or female. The surgeon also takes into account how much you actually weigh. The larger you are, the more money it will cost to have liposuction. If you weigh a lot, you may be considered a special medical case, which also increase the cost of liposuction.

Apparently, the cost of liposuction changes according to the needs of each patient. There is no exact quote that you can go by for liposuction. Remember to look around and choose the best surgeon for your case. Make sure the surgeon understand why you are going to perform the surgery so that you will be happy with the results. Your health should be the number one factor when determining the surgeon you go with, even if that requires you to pay more. - 30516

How To Make The Best Anti-Aging Moisturizer Work Better

By Linda Robison

Most people dont know this, but many of the active ingredients in anti-aging creams and other skin care products remains on top of your skin and only a small amount is partially absorbed.

So, how do increase and encourage absorption for maximum benefits? Use the Derma Roller first first, then put on favorite anti aging serum or moisturizer.

The Derma Roller is a small device that can be used at home. It has 192 surgical steel micro-needles which are able to gently open the pores of the epidermis (top layer of skin) without damaging it.

Once the pores are open, your creams and anti aging serums are much better absorb, allowing you to derive maximum benefits and nutrients from your expensive creams or lotions. Then after about 50-60 minutes the pores start to close up again.

And, the other benefit of using the Derma roller is that it helps encourage your own natural collagen production without causing damage to the skin the way chemical and laser peels do.

How? When the micro needles push the pores open, the body believes that some damage has been done, to the skin - even though there is no damage to the skin - and it starts to heal itself by producing collagen. This production will continue to heal until the treatment is stopped.

This means that so long as the derma roller treatment is performed regularly, your skin will heal itself to a cosmetic level. Imagine building collagen even as you age? Skin needling has a lot of other beneficial effects including:

How To Lift Sagging Jowls Without Surgery

By Linda Robison

Someone once said that a good face was like a letter of introduction. That concept is reflected in our culture with an emphasis on appearing young and beautiful. To obtain that appearance many turn to a cosmetic surgery facelift.

Cosmetic facelift surgery (also called Rhytidectomy) is intended to help remove the signs of aging in both the neck and face. Specifically sagging and creases get smoothed, fatty deposits are removed (like jowls), double chins get tucked, eyelids may be tightened, and so forth.

If youre unhappy with those wrinkles and sagging face lines, then facelift surgery might be something to consider. You should know, however, that a cosmetic surgery facelift will not change your appearance like other plastic surgery does, and it certainly wont stop the signs of aging from returning eventually. So its a good idea to consult with a reputable facelift surgeon and detail out both your expectations and questions.

Risks: As with any surgery there are risks that should factor into your decision making process. Facelifts can cause visible scars, infections, hair loss, nerve damage, skin loss, swelling and pain. If done poorly a person may find their face un-symmetrical, meaning corrective surgery may be necessary, and at quite a cost.

You may be wondering what a cosmetic facelift surgery runs. The combination of a surgeons fees, facility fee, and anesthesia fee costs between $7,000 - $18,000 depending on the extent of the procedure. Its for that reason that many people combine plastic surgery procedures (like a nose job) with a facelift so that the anesthesia fee and site fee are only paid once.

Safer and Less Expensive Options: If youre looking for an alternative to facelifts, then theres good news. You can have a facelift without surgery. How? By using facial exercises. Face Exercises. Click on the following to see a Free Video for Crow's Feet

Just like the muscles of the body, the face benefits from daily workouts. Studies have proven that those who exercise the facial muscles daily look younger and more rested than those who do not.

What is Breast Enlargement Surgery?

By Amy Nutt

Breast Enlargement Surgery, or Breast Augmentation, is a surgical procedure performed to increase the size of ones breasts using a medical implant. The implant is normally made of silicone with saline or a silicone gel filled in it. It is inserted into the breast through an incision underneath the breasts. Today, breast enhancement surgery is becoming a popular choice for many women.

Breast enlargement surgery is normally performed to increase the size of the breasts for fuller more shapely breasts, restore the size or shape of the breasts after significant weight loss or pregnancy, make the breasts more evenly proportioned, and to restore breast size after a mastectomy.

Saline solution is the substance most frequently used to fill breast implants because it can be safely absorbed by the body if the implant leaks or ruptures. An incision is made in the bottom crease of the breast or along the lower edge of the area surrounding the nipple. The implant is inserted through the incision and placed under the breast tissue. Once the implant has been adjusted to the correct shape and position, the incision is then closed with stitches. Some doctors believe that placing the implant beneath the chest muscle instead of under the breast will decrease the risk of acquiring a condition known as Capsular Contracture which is hardening of tissue surrounding the implant. As well, they say there is less of an obstruction when having a mammogram.

Breast enlargement surgery is normally performed as an outpatient procedure. The surgery can take from 1 to 2 hours. General anesthesia is usually used; however a local anesthesia or an epidural can be used in certain cases. After the surgery, gauze is taped over the stitches. The breasts are then wrapped and supported by a specially designed bra. The stitches can be removed in 10 to 14 days. The bandage must be kept dry for the entire period that it is worn.

There may be slight bruising, swelling, and soreness for a few days after the surgery. One can take medications to reduce the minimal discomfort. A supportive bra can help reduce swelling and support the breasts while they heal. Within a few days, most women can return to their normal daily routine. There is some scarring associated with the procedure, but this will normally fade after a few months.

If you are aged 18 or over, not pregnant, and in good health, you may be considered a good candidate for breast enlargement surgery. Most insurance will not cover the cost of breast implants for non medical reasons. However, they may possibly cover the cost as part of breast reconstruction after surgery for breast cancer. One should ask their insurance provider if there are certain exceptions where some funding can be provided for their breast enlargement surgery.

Most women who have breast enlargement surgery will require at least one more enlargement surgery during their lives. As well, most women who get breast implants are pleased with the results. - 30516

How Much Does Liposuction Cost Answered

By Peter Griffinson

Liposuction costs can vary greatly because each person is made differently and there is not set price for the procedure. If you are a healthy weight your surgery will take less time and in the long run cost less. If you are a heavier individual you can expect a longer surgery and larger costs. This is the one place to ask how much does liposuction cost?

There is an average price that most surgeons use and that is around $5000.00 to $7000.00 for a healthy weight individual. We as woman work really hard to get those extra places off where diet and exercise cannot remove. We need to turn to liposuction to achieve our dream bodies. That is why most of you are wondering how much does liposuction cost?

The fee is determined mostly by area where procedure is performed, if you have a well known experienced physician or one who just started out, and the anesthesiologists has fees to be applied for sedation for the surgery. It is hard to apply just a set price to liposuction it will be mostly based on who you use and what area or areas of the body need to be treated.

My suggestion would be to get out and speak to anyone you know who has had liposuction surgery. Find out how much they paid and the length of their surgery. It will vary greatly sometimes from newer physicians who need to build up a reputation and they may charge more than the experienced that has built up their clients and can charge a little less than the newer practices.

As many plastic surgeons state it is easier to be the first to work on a certain body area than to do repair work from a previous liposuction. So, this should tell you how much does liposuction cost? I would also look into the price differentiates between newer surgeons than experienced ones. The surgeons that are just starting out may charge you a higher fee than the experienced surgeons who has an established clientele. - 30516

Scarless Tummy Tuck Explained

By Brandon Geberinger

A scarless tummy tuck or partial abdominoplasty will result in smaller and less visible tummy tuck scars. The cosmetic surgeon makes the incision much smaller than the incision made for a full abdominoplasty incision. You may be an ideal candidate for a scarless tummy tuck, if you lost elasticity in your abdomen and nothing you do improves it. Things such as age, pregnancy or a lot of weight gain can cause your skin on your abdomen to lose elasticity. This procedure is mainly for problems in the lower abdomen. There shouldnt be to much excess fat in this area. Your abdomen will look taut after this surgery because the surgeon will remove excess skin and tighten the muscles.

A few hours or less is the amount of time it takes to have a scarless tummy tuck. You should completely stop smoking about two weeks before surgery to lower the chances of any complications. A plan will be given to you by your surgeon so you know how to prepare yourself for this surgery.

A general anesthetic or local anesthetic in addition to a sedative will be used. The surgeon may also do liposuction along with the surgery.

After an incision is made above the pubis and the skin flap will be stretched. The skin flap is stitched back into place after the removal of fat and tightening of the skin. The belly button is let in place during the entire surgery. Only a small scar will show but it can easily be hidden.

The hospital stay is very short after a scarless tummy tuck. Usually patients can go home the same day they have the surgery performed. You can expect some pain, tenderness, swelling and bruising that may last up to six weeks. It may be possible to do light activities in a few days but full recovery could take a whole month. Stitches are removed approximately 10 days after a scarless tummy tuck. Activity needs to be increased to prevent blood clots and help you recover faster. Its important to follow your surgeons orders and keep every appointment to make sure everything is fine. - 30516

What Is A Derma Roller? See it Featured on The Rachael Ray Show

By Linda Robison

Recently on a Rachael Ray show called the Human Lab Segment, she had her audience members test out several anti-aging creams and devices and had them report back in a few weeks with their results. She also had a guest panel that included Dr. Loretta Ciraldo from the University of Miami to evaluate each product. See the VIDEO CLIP HERE

The derma roller, a small hand held device that contains 192 surgical a steel points, was one of the most popular skincare devices evaluated.

Derma Roller - How It Works

The derma roller is used for removing acne scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, fine lines. And it can even help with big pores, black heads, and white heads. This micro needling or skin needling anti-aging technique is also used to perform collagen induction therapy (CIT). Studies show that when this device is roller over the skin, it creates small puncture wounds which cause the body to produce collagen in an attempt to heal the skin. Our collagen production falls dramatically after about age 35 or so.

A recent study performed by a Swiss dermatologist - who tested the derma roller on 600 people with aging skin problems and facial scars - found that there was up to a 40% improvement in skin rejuvenation and up 60% reduction in scars. They speculated that the increased collagen production from the derma roller - which they call collagen induction therapy (CIT) - is what helps to heal the skin, fill out depressed or pitted scars, reduce and smooth stretch marks, and repair wrinkles.

The derma roller needles puts little tiny punctures in the upper layer of the dermis of the skin -- causing a wound healing process to begin and the stimulation of new collage fibers and other skin cells, like elastin, filling in depressed scars and deep lines. The derma roller is also one of the best acne scar treatment - use it along with your favorite home remedies for acne scars for maximum results.

Also, it allows for increased absorption of your favorite anti-aging creams. Every time you use the derma roller, it causes new collagen and elastin to form thereby reducing the appearance of stretch marks, scars, and wrinkles. This is one of the best home remedies for face wrinkles on the market. It was nice to see a product review that really worked and was based on science.

One of the best advantages of the derma roller is that its non-invasive and doesn't require healing or downtime like other skin rejuvenating techniques. And its also safe for men and women of color; this is also an issue when considering chemical or laser peels. - 30516
